Bless the Lord, all His works, in all places of His dominion. Bless the Lord, O my soul! Psalm 103:22

The black-and-white character of Israel’s repeated apostasy and God’s grace after their conquest of Canaan contrasts sharply with the Bible’s colorful depiction of David’s devotion to the Lord. God greatly blesses David and renews and enlarges His covenant promises to include an eternal kingdom (2 Samuel 7:16) in which He will be their God and they His people. But Israel again turns to idolatry after Solomon’s death, and in judgment God gives them over to the serpent’s seed and cuts off their inheritance. Yet a faithful remnant is saved that God graciously upholds through the revelation of His prophets, foretelling the glorious fulfillment of His covenant in the coming of One from David who, as prophet, priest, king, and kinsman-redeemer, will rescue His people and bless every nation on earth.

AJA-39-A04HAlthough we often speak about the color of an object and use it as a primary means of identification and classification, we do not really see color at all. Instead, we see the light that is reflected from the surface of object, which our eyes change into electrochemical signals that are then transmitted through nerve fibers to the brain, which interprets them as the colors we see. Thus, an object’s color is really determined by the reflective or absorbent nature of the pigments it contains.

However, there is still a great deal that scientists don’t know about the way our eyes and brain work together to create the sensation of color.

UCA-32-A01VConsider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith?
